In this month's report I have several topics I would like to report on - the election, the Montreal trip, lateral transfers, overtime, contractors, grievances and the management walk around.

Last month we had nominations for five open positions. They were vice president, negotiator, trustee, District 70 delegate and safety committee. Several people were nominated for these positions and now this month it is your opportunity to choose from the list of candidates who you feel will be most qualified and dedicated to the membership. KANSEL Needs Volunteers for Clean Up

Volunteers are needed to help KANSEL move to it's new location located at 2212 E. Central, near the Central Business District in Downtown. Phase I of the project is light demolition, removing trim and border around doorways, windows and baseboards. All this work needs to be completed before UNION Carpenters can come and and begin moving walls for new offices and classrooms.

Volunteer times can be flexible either on weekends or during the evening hours. If you or a group of folks would like to come over and work at the new facility please contact Mario Cervantes at the Unied Way by e-mail and/or phone 267-1321 ext. 4209 or Carolyn Bunch 263 -9620 or 680-8599. We will have to arrange the opening and closing of the building.  

Carolyn Bunch, Executive Director of KANSEL would like to be moved into the new facility by the end of August. Carolyn and KANSEL has supported us and will continue to be there for union workers and working families in our community. It is our turn to give back as UNIONIST!
